I think 'Discovery and Exploration'
is the basis for ‘Creativity and Innovation’, ‘Entrepreneurship’ and ‘Social
Entrepreneurship’. Because discovering
and exploring is facing the challenges and observing things with a different
point of view. I intend to become a musician. This is the reason why
'Discovery and Exploration' is interesting for me more than other topics.
Because I think of myself not only as a musician but also a citizen. Therefore
I have interest in many other things such as, photography, film, design and by
far the most, social issues. I imagine the MaD conference to be an opportunity
to hear from changemakers of the world but I am also looking forward to meet
other young people and share experiences. Honestly, I am not familiar with
the words and descriptions used in the MaD conference. But I hope to learn more
through MaD. It is a chance for me to approach new subjects and diverse
experiences.

I work in haja production school as a video creator and advisor.
I found the session, "Discovery and Exploration" the most intriguing. Especially the speech "Another world out There" by Cheung Chui Yung.
Actually, I have made some documentary films on social issues.
Sometimes I wonder, “How can I do something with a camera in this complex society?” and “What is the meaning of creating something for others?”
When I read this explanation, I was curious about the reason why she focuses on zones of emergency and reporting for others. So, I want to hear about her experiences and discuss on this topic. The good thing about this chance is that we can share different experiences with each other among the young people. I look forward to this session and that’s why I hope to attend the MaD conference.

Therefore I imagine that the MaD conference will enable us to understand the drastic sociocultural changes(times) and bring out alternatives. so I think 'Discovery and Exploration' is the basic step for Crossing ideas and breaking boundaries. I hope to learn more through MaD.

I realized that sometimes taking a picture could be offensive to people.
The reason why l am telling about this story is because I think it has connections to discovery and exploration. By this experience I learned a sensitivity which I did not know previously. Through this exploration I learned something that developed to a consciousness and questions that can develop my learning. So I find discovering and exploration is a fun, but also essential. I look forward to learn from this talk in MAD conference and I hope to add more consciousness through discovery in that place.

Hi. My name is Mi-Ji Jung, and I use my nickname Banya. I attend Haja Production School(HPS) which is located in Seoul. I study in the video team. The interesting item in Mad conference is discovery and explorer.
Firstly, by just seeing this title ‘discovery and explorer’, I felt it was interesting. These days I am concerning on the process of finding my own interests. And in this process, discovery and explorer is required. That is why it is an important issue to me. Secondly, various speakers are taking part in this conference. I wonder what kind of stories they would tell me about discovery and explorer. I am especially interested in ‘cooking scientific discovery.’ I wonder how cooking and science could be told together. By participating in MaD, I expect to hear how others live, which can help me to think more about my life. I also want to have an opportunity to meet and know how teenagers think about MaD, and what motivated them to come. But best of all I really want to have a chance to find out new information and explorer. I hope I can be influenced by diverse and new stories from MaD conference.
So I try to 'discover and explore' the social issues and other inconvenient truth. I also wish to not only discover and explore society, but also myself for my development. I am going to develop as I participate in this society. So I am expecting to learn more about social issues in MaD conference. Also I expect thought to be advancing that Discover and explore it what means to myself and society.
하자 작업장 학교에 다니면서, 이곳에 초대된 많은 분들이 자신의 위치에서 어떤 방식으로 행동했었는지 이야기를 들을 수 있었습니다. 그 때부터 나는 내가 보고 있는 세상에 대해서 어떠한 방식으로 이야기하고 행동할지 고민하기 시작했습니다.
나는 노래를 부르고, 악기를 연주하는 것이 좋기 때문에 스스로를 '세계를 노래하는 마을의 음악가'라고 부르며 내가 보는 주변의 재개발, 이주자들, 환경문제에 대해 노래를 지었습니다. '세계를 노래하는 마을의 음악가'는 서로 연대하는 마치 마을같은 공동체 사회 안에서 음악가로서의 역할을 가지고 세상의 일들을 노래한다는 것을 의미합니다.
요즘, 나는 더 넓은 세계관(a view of the world)이 나에게 필요하지 않은지 생각하고 있습니다.
세계에는 내가 보지 못하는 수많은 흐름들이 있기 때문입니다. 내가 볼 수 있는 것은 극히 적습니다.
그래서 나는 다른 문화, 세계에 대한 '발견과 탐사' 에 관심이 있습니다. MaD를 통해 더 넓게 볼 수 있었으면 좋겠습니다.
My name is Dong-Nyeok, Glad to meet you. I'm a student of Haja Production School. I'm studying music, also intherested in Evironment, Social Issues. While I was studying in HPS, I could listen to the stories of invited speakers how each they had been saving the world on thier own way through special lectures. since then, I've thought How I can save the world on my way. I liked to sing a song, and play music So I started to write my own songs about the problems around me like re-developing, moved people(이주자인데 Immigrant??혹은 Migrant?), Ecological problems as I called 'A musician of Village who sings the world' myself. 'A musician of Village who sings the world' means, I'm in charge of sining the manythings of the world in the community of the society just like Village. therefore, these days I think I need a wider view of the world.
Because There are lots of another world. I can see just a little world.
So I'm interested in the Item 'Discovery and Exploration' of other cultures, worlds. I hope to be able to see wider through 'Mad Conference.' :-)

Hi. My name is Deokgyun Jang. I like to play musical instrument. I specially like the guitar and the Brazilian percussion. I'm a member of performence team 'Festeza' in HPS In HPS, my nickname is 'Show'. The nickname means 'showing something' as it shows. The reason why I have this nickname is that I want to show people something I can do by playing the musical instrument.
While I was reading the text for this writing, the words I was specially impressed were 'passion', 'exploration and situation' and 'new society'.
I'm a student of HPS(Haja Production School). I like drawing and taking short memos.
This semester, I met many people through lectures and field trips in my school.
I also I started to concern about how to show my works to other people, the place where l do my work and what kind of creator I want to be.
Out of these thoughts, I was interested about the 'Cultural Identity in Global Village' by Veronica Needa. I want to find out the meaning of 'cultural identity'.
and I want to grow a different view about global culture through MaD.
My motto is "Making a living through what I want to do." This means my life and what I want to do is not separate. I want to continue making videos while having insights into problems that occur during specific times and culture. I not only want to know about things but also think creatively to solve these problems. The time I live in is called 'The time of climate change'. I am concentrating on organizing movements on this issue because I think 'movement' is the start of making a difference. 'Creativity' and 'Innovation' is the power to overcome crisis. I believe my medium(video) has strong power. In the MaD conference I hope to listen to change makers, and how they are using their mediums and knowledge to make a difference in the world.
My name is Danji. I work in haja production school as an advisor.(an alternative school for teenagers in Korea.) I think making a difference and innovation is based on the belief that a better society will be made. Many people are trying this with various methods. I look forward to share many opinions and experimental experiences through MaD. I'm especially interested in the talk <Pain is Temporary, Quitting Last Forever> by Derek Kwik in the <Discovery & Exploration>part because I want to hear about his challenging experiences and look into my own challenges in life.
