The social value of Design - Marisa Yiu


Marisa Yiu is the founding partner of eskyiu, a design collaborative integrating culture, community and technology. She examines the ways in which the built environment and constructs of labour shape social relationships by forming connections between civic engagement and sustainable design.


마리사 유는 디자인 그룹, 에스키유의 공동 창시자이다. 에스키유는 문화, 공동체, 기술을 통합한 디자인을 지향한다. 그녀는 환경이 만들어지는 방식을 조사하며 시민활동과 지속가능한 디자인 사이를 연결하는 등의 방법으로 노동과 관련된 사회적 관계들을 구성하고 있다.

Drawing on the RIGHT Side of the Brain


Everybody can draw—if you can shift from verbal and analytic left-brain mode to visual and perceptual right-brain mode, and see things in an artist's way. Developed by Dr Betty Edwards with reference to psychobiologist Dr Roger Sperry's Nobel Prize-winning research on human brain-hemisphere, “Drawing on the RIGHT Side of the Brain” will uncover the artist in you.

Hong Kong Icon


Landmarks, people's movement and objects on the street reflect a place's culture. In this programme, young people will learn to read our city through photograhy, illustration and writing. After a series of workshops and lectures, they will capture images of the city and create their own Hong Kong icons.


랜드마크, 거리의 사람들과 사물의 움직임들은 어떤 장소의 문화를 반영합니다. 이 프로그램에서는 사진, 일러스트레이션, 글쓰기 등을 통해서 우리의 도시를 읽어보려합니다. 여러 워크숍과 강의들을 통해서 참가자들은 도시의 이미지를 포착하고 그들만의 홍콩의 상징을 만들 것입니다.

How to Think Creatively


We could all be creative, but conventional thinking, fear of failure and social norms dumb our creative gene. You will learn in this workshop how these three factors keep you in the box and stop you from seeing the unseen, focusing on the right problem and designing elegant solutions.


우리는 모두 창의적일 수 있다. 하지만 관습적인 생각, 실패에 대한 두려움, 사회의 규범들이 우리의 창의적 유전자를 막는 것이다. 이 워크숍에서는 이 세가지 요인들이 어떻게 우리로 하여금 보이지 않는 것을 보지 못하게 만드는지, 상자안에 갇히게 하는지 배울 것이다. 또한 올바른 문제에 집중하고, 명쾌한 해결방안을 디자인 하는 법을 배울 것이다.
