청소년을 위한 시민문화 워크숍글 수 603
Hi Ddeobi.
It will be a pleasure to meet you and Nal-gae. I hope you will forgive me if I won't be able to pronounce your names correctly :) I am a reporter, so I will try to tell Italians what happens during the G20. Today an article of mine was published about the preparation of the summit. In the next days I will try to write an article about the riots in Gwangju, in 1980. Do you actually know somebody who was living there at that time? In case, I would like to contact him/her by mail. Thanks :) Let's come to our peace matter. What you read on the BIPPI website is an example of what I do with intercultural groups, in meetings lasting for 2-3 weeks. In this case, I always start with a strong group-building. But this is not our case, so I would act differently. What I need is to modulate any proposal according to 3 criteria: - the size of the group - the duration of the meetings - the goals that we'll fix together You propose me a 2-day pre-workshop on November 19th and 20th to overcome the language problem, which is OK for me. 4/5 people partecipating. How long? 1 hour? 2 hours? More? Can we meet out of the school, as well? For any plan I really need a clear schedule of the meetings. The methodology of my workshops is normally based on interaction. I like to make a provocation and discuss the individual reactions all together. What I really don't want is to make a one-man show. To avoid it, I would propose you not to set up a definitive idea of workshop right now, only discussing among us. As we have a small group of 4/5 "volunteers" to help us, I would use them to prepare the activities in details, maybe listening to their ideas, too. This would take more time but it would be very instructive for them and very useful for us to put on a real interaction with the students. Would you agree with it? Of course I have enough material for an eventual "plan B", if the energy of the small group will not be enough to make a good "plan A". But I bet that, if we are clear enough about the timing and the goals of the workshop, it will perfectly work. Teenagers are amazing when we give them the possibility to take part in decisions. Main workshop from the 23rd to the 26th November with about 30 youngsters. Same question than before: can I have a clear schedule? Like 2 hours on 23rd morning, 1 hour on 24th afternoon and so on... Let's fix together the possible goals of the workshop. - The religious meaning of peace, particularly from the point of view of the "Abrahamic religions". - The political meaning of peace, as a possible agreement between parties. The example of Palestine is a very good one. - The contribution of political systems to peace. Dictatorship and democracy. 1) Short presentation of me and my work Everybody's motivations Meaning of peace: religious (a small theatre play could be the "provocation"), philosophical (non violence), political (win-win agreement). 2) Interactive game on peace. Very small material and very fast preparation. I just need a capable room to make it. Evaluation about the game. 3) Peace building and peace enforcing accordind to UN Personal engagement: what I do to build peace? what I do against? what can I do for? I would set up a scenario to discuss the matter, using maybe the "theatre of the oppressed". 4) In addiction, you suggest a discussion on fascism. From the point of view of the European sensibility on it, my opinion is that this is a strong political matter which has to be discussed with much attention. There are some fundamental questions on it: - is it allowed to have a political discussion in a Korean school? - would the discussion hurt the feeling of some supporters of right parties? Students? Student's parents? Other teachers? - can we discuss on fascism without touching the topic "totalitarism", which brings to communism and teocracy also? Actually there is a fantastic movie on the topic. It is called "Die Welle", originally in German (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ If it is impossible to watch it with the greater group, do you think we can watch this movie in English, with the small group, on 19th evening? Hope to hear from you soon Bruno ---------
