<meta charset="utf-8">이 노래는 레오나르트 립튼이 그의 19세 대학생 시절에 쓴 시에 기반해서 피터, 폴 앤 메리에 의해서 노래로 유명세를 탔다. 가사는 나이를 먹지 않는 용 퍼프와 그와 같이 놀던 재키페이퍼의 이야기를 담고 있는데, 작은 소년 재키 페이퍼는 자라나면서 어린시절의 상상의 모험에 흥미를 잃어가면서 퍼프를 떠나면서 결국에 그를 홀로 우울하게 만든다.

This song is written as poem by Leonard lipton, a 19 years old a university student. Then based on his poem, Peter, Paul and Mary made it a song, and this song became famous by them. The Lyric tells about a story of ageless dragon Puff and his playmate 'Jackie Paper', A little boy Jackie Paper grows up and loses his memory and imaginary adventure in childhood, and finally he leaves Puff alone and depresses him.

The song is very beautiful and sad story. In 60's, This song was forbidden song because it is a metaphor of a kind of Drug. But I think it is about our disappearing memories of childhood.
