HPS is a small school located in the Seoul
city and is open for students who want to be one of the poets saving the world,
making meaningful steps to the society around us. We also consider ourselves as
a Kurikindi, a smallest humming bird who tries to save the burning forest by
dropping drops of water with its small beak while other animals run away from
the forest fire. Rather than sitting back and expecting some big heroes to save
us from the crisis, we students move and act in order to make small, but important
differences. As individuals, we are figuring out ways to
collaborate with each other. To do this, we focus on doing what we can through different
projects using medias like music, visual arts, design. So we also divide ourselves
into three teams- music performance team, visual arts and design. The main
keywords of our school are peace, climate change and living together. Our school has been to Maesot several times
but some of us are here for the first time. So we have different expectations about
this trip. As a school, we believe that there are ways to help overcome the
situation in Burma even though it might be hard and difficult. We’re looking
forward to exchanging experiences through different activities and mutual
communication.

HPS is an alternative school in Seoul, Korea. 'Alternative school' has begun since 90's in korea society. Many teenager in regular school felt regular school's education and system have no meaning because they already had what they want to do, and they thought the system and atmosphere of the society suppress them without respect for their personalities and the diverse ways of making their living. Then alternative schools had been established, HPS and it in HAJA CENTER were established with their motto that is autonomous learning. Haja production school has three teams for music performance, design and video, and daily globish class as an alternative school in Seoul, Korea. We are learning participating some projects of diverse groups in diverse situations such like related to re-development, climate change, Burmese refugees in Thailand and so on, or doing something called common good activities and making some events for solidarity with many people. Recent Haja production school 2nd season begins with a story from Andes mountains. The forest was being burned. All the animals were running out from the burning forest but the least bird 'Kurikindi' was dropping the water drop on the fire with a tiny beak. Other animals were laughing it 'That's useless.' and Kurikind answered, "I'm just doing what I can do." We're leaning and doing to continue this story with a way can put out the fire on the forest. Nowadays, There are lots of crisis and sadness that we're in. Sometimes we're threatened our lives and existences, and even we're worrying whether we can sustain our lives with other existences on this planet beyond a lot of wave of changing in this generation. So our school want to make what we can do with others from what I can do for other situations and lives that I empathize. we're learning by doing with diverse perspectives and making experiences mine and considering Peace, Ecology and living together as we're youth who are living in this generation.
