My name is Laura, and I am writing you to request to speak at your University. I am currently living in Incheon, and teaching English at a Hagwon. However, I have recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in Global Studies/Security with a Peace Studies Certificate. My focus of study is Peacebuilding and Conflict  Resolution, and I spent the summer of 2007 working for a non-governmental peacebuilding organization in Rwanda.

I have spoken at universities and high schools about a variety of subjects related to my field, and my experiences in Rwanda, and I would be honored to speak at your University.

Some of the topics I can speak on (but are not limited to) are:

• Rwanda and Living in a post-genocide nation
• Working for a peacebuilding NGO
• Genocide and Identity
• Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution (with a focus on Rwanda)
  

I believe genocide awareness, and the fields of peacebuilding and conflict resolution are vital to the peaceful progress of this planet, and I am grateful for every opportunity I have to share my experiences with others.
