돌산도는 여수에서 가장 큰 섬이다. 돌산도의 이름의 유래는 8개의 큰 산이다. 이 섬은 갓김치로 잘 알려져있다.

[돌산공원/돌산대교]
돌산공원은규모는 크지 않지만 사방이 탁 트여 있어 돌산대교와 여수 앞바다, 여수항, 여수 시가지 풍경이 훤히 내려다보이는 곳으로 많은 사람들이 즐겨 찾는 장소이다.

[방죽포 해수욕장]
백사장 길이 300m, 너비 70m로 돌산도 남동쪽 해안에 있다. 이곳은 수심이 얕고 피서지로 적합하다. 우리는 사전축제 두 번째 날에 그곳으로 갈 것이다. The range and extent of this beach is 300m / 70m. It's located near the southeast sea of 돌산 island. You can enjoy your summer here because the water is shallow. We will be there on the second day before the main festival.

[향일암]
향일암은 해를 바라본다고 해서 붙여진 이름으로 서기 659년 원효대사가 창건하였다. 향일암은 우리나라 4대 관음 기도 도량 중 하나이다.
The meaning of 향일 Buddhist temple is 'seeing the sun'. It was made by monk wonhyo in A.D(Anno Domini) 659. This is one of the four great praying temples in korea.

[평사마을=초교/굴 작업장]
평사마을은 돌산도 남서쪽 끝자락에 위치한 작은 마을이다. 이 마을에서는 주로 여름철에는 벼농사와 채소농사/겨울철에는 굴 양식업을 한다. 이 마을에서 가장 젊은 사람은 30대 초반, 이 말은 즉슨 젊은이가 없다.
평사초교는 평사마을에 위치한 작은 분교이며 전교생은 8명에 선생님 두 분이 계신다. 주변에는 교회, 마을회관이 있다.
