And what about those of us in the National League of Democracy? Why are we working so hard to free out our country? Is it not that we see democracy through a haze of optimism. We know that democracy is a jewel that must be polished constantly to maintain its luster. To prevent it from being damaged or stolen, democracy must be guarded and unremitting vigilance. 

NLD의 우리는 무엇을 원하는 걸까요?  왜 우리는 이토록 열심히 우리 나라의 자유 해방을 위해 일하는 걸까요? 우리가 희뿌연 낙관주의를 통해서 민주주의를 보는 것은 아닙니다. 우리는 민주주의란 그것의 광택을 유지하기 위해서 끊임없이 광을 내야하는 보석 같은 것이라는걸 압니다. 그것이 상처를 입거나 빼앗기는 것을 예방하기 위해선, 민주주의는 보호되야 하고, 끊임없는 경계를 해야합니다.
