우리는 기후변화시대의 living literacy프로젝트를 통해, 도시 안에서 살고 있는 10대로서 내가 추구하는 삶의 조건과 어떤 것에 가치를 두고 살아 갈 것인지를 진지하게 이야기 해보고, 동시에 각자가 원하는 도시를 그려 보기도 하였다.

Through the project Living literacy in the time of climate change we talked about what we are going to value and what living conditions we hope to have living in the city as a teenager and made a concept of the ideal city we want to live in.

이러한 과정이 진전되면서 서울에 살고있는 하자작업장학교 10대들과 홍콩에 살고있는 홍콩창의력학교 10대들이 모여 실시간 비디오컨퍼런스로 유스토크를 진행하게 되었다.

While making progress in the discussion we arranged a real-time video conference with the teenagers in Hong Kong School of Creativity.

도시에 살아가는 10대로서 기후변화시대를 어떻게 맞이할 것인가 를 놓고 이야기를 나누는 과정에서 서울, 홍콩 두 도시가 가지고 있는 문제들을 10대가 겪는 경험의 맥락이 어떻게 연결이 되는지 알았고, 분별없는 개발과 가속화 되는 도시의 속도를 따라가지 못해 낙후되어가는 사람과 기억에 대한 일들이 더 이상 타인의 문제로만 인식하지 않고 보다 깊은 관심을 통해 함께 안타까워하고 많은 사람과 소통하려는 노력을 하고 있다.

We came to know about the connection between the experiences of the teenagers living in Seoul and Hong Kong while talking about how we are going to face up to the life in the time of climate change. There were a lot more similarities between us. We found out about the evicted people in between careless development and accelerating city, their memories and rights should be recognized as our own not as a stranger's. With more interest and concern we are making an effort to communicate with more people.

그러한 노력들이 우리가 살고 있는 도시를, 사회를, 더 나아가서 지구를 지킬 뿐 아니라, 결국 나 자신을 지키기 위한 행동이며, 곳곳에 일어나고 있는 일들이 더 이상 마주하기 어렵고, 나와는 상관없는 것이 아닌, 나의 행동과 밀접한 관계를 맺고 있다는 것을 알고 아주 작은 일부터 실천하기를 시작했다.

And these efforts will save our city, society and even the earth. In the end it is an action to save ourselves. We started by keeping small promises to the earth. It is small but we know our small actions can result to huge tragedies, but also it can lead to bigger movement. The start was knowing the happenings around me are not for the others to take care of but we all have to take care of. And now we came to think for more active, movements.
