6월 3일의 유스토크에서는 하자작업장학교와 홍콩창의력학교 학생들이 함께 만든 '기후변화 시대를 살아가는 10대들의 창의적 제안'이라는 제목의 선언문이 발표되었다. 이 선언문을 만드는 과정이 쉽지만은 않았다. 서로 언어가 달라서 교류가 여려웠던 점도 있었지만 가장 힘들었던 것은 '기후변화'라는 멀게만 보이는 현상을 자신들의 삶 안으로 깊숙히 끌어들이는 일이었고, 또 한편으로는 선언문을 만든다는 것 자체가 부담스럽기도 했다.

During the Youth Talk on the 3rd of June between Haja Production School and Hong Kong School of Creativity, a teenagers' manifesto called 'A creative suggestion by teenagers living in the time of climate change' was announced. It wasn't easy to write those promises. There were some language difficulties making our exchange tiring but the most difficult thing for us was involving the issue 'climate change' deep into our lives while it looked so far away.

그럼에도 불구하고 우리는 아무 일도 하지 않을 수는 없었다. 할 수 있는 한 최선을 다하기 위해서, '말만 하지 않고 실천하기' 위해서. 이러한 생각과 고민 끝에 우리가 만들어 낸 선언문은 사실 지금으로써는 선언문이라는 말이 창피할 정도로 빈약하지만 우리는 홍콩과의, 그리고 어쩌면 다른 단체들이나 다른 나라들과의 교류를 통해 이 선언문의 내용을 끊임없이 보충시켜나가고자 한다. 또한 이를 보다 많은 사람들에게 알리고 함께하기 위해 6월 4-5일 이틀에 걸쳐 각각 청계광장과 홍대로 나가 action을 했다.

But became conscious about it. We couldn't just sit back and do nothing. To 'do' something and not just 'speak' of it we did our best to make the manifesto. It's embarrassing to look at it now but we are willing to develop this manifesto by adding new opinions from other groups of people. In order to share our concerns with more people outside we went to do a street action for two days in 청계 square and 홍대.

우리의 action은 우리가 만든 선언문과 또 하나, 그리닝을 중심으로 이루어졌다. 그리닝은 디자이너 양지윤의 작품으로 환경 보호를 위한 작은 약속을 담은 카드이다. 거대하고 강한 메시지를 담은 것은 아니지만, 우리의 일상에서 누구나 쉽게 실천할 수 있는 시도들에 대한 작은 움직임이라고 생각되었다. 손도장이 하나하나 늘어날수록 카드 속의 나무도, 그리고 이 지구의 나무도 하나하나 늘어간다는 의미를 담고 있다.

Along with the manifesto, we did something called 'Greening'. Greening is a card design made by designer 양지윤 which contain small promises to save the environment. They are not big, impressive messages but it was something that we could practice in our daily lives.

4일, 우리는 각자 선언문중 한두 문장을 피켓에 적어 그것을 들고 청계광장으로 향했다. 피켓 역시 버려진 물건들을 재활용해서 만들어보고자 했다. 서밋장소였던 남산에서 청계광장까지 모두 침묵을 지키려고 노력하면서 걸어갔고, 청계광장에 도착해서는 그 옆에서 피켓을 내려놓고 함께 노래를 불렀다. 한쪽에서는 그리닝이 진행되었고, 다른 한쪽에서는 하자작업장학교와 홍콩창의력학교 학생들이 직접 지나가는 행인들에게 선언문과 그리닝에 대해서 설명을 했다.

On the 4th of June we went to 청계 square holding picket signs which had parts of our manifesto written on it. We made the pickets by recycling bits of thrown away card board and strings. We walked to 청계 square in silence, holding the pickets. When we arrived we put down the pickets on the street to show everyone and sang infront of it.

그리고 그 다음날인 5일, 청계광장보다 좀 더 젊은 사람들을 많이 만날 수 있는 홍대 놀이터에서 비슷한 퍼포먼스를 진행했다. 이러한 과정 안에서 학생들은 선언문이나 그리닝을 전혀 모르는 사람들에게 그에 대해 설명해야 했고, 그 결과 자신도 훨씬 더 생각을 정리시키고 발전시킬 수 있었다. 또한 꽤나 많은 사람들이 관심을 가지고 얘기를 들어주었고, 그리닝에 참여하여 함께 약속을 해 주었다.

We did a similar performance in another area called 홍대 where we could find younger people. We had to explain to the people who didn't know anything about Greening or the manifesto and it was a good chance to organize and develop our thoughts. Many people stopped and listened to what we explained and took part in the Greening event.
