In the year 2009, living in a mega city we feel suffocated, having lost our sense of empathy towards others and the environment. We are highly self-centered but our motivation of living comes from competition against others. We cannot be an independent person, our lives are controlled by the society and the expectations of parents. We are chase after wealth and reputation but are never aware of the consequences of the process. We are continuously looking away from the reality of climate change, which might even switch our lives back to front. However, we need to feel, to understand and recognize why we have now approached to this state. Believing that I can change something is also the courage to become independent.

We want to save the things we think valuable and save the things we like, from disappearing in this time of crisis.

- To live and be active, we need to commit ourselves to the reality.

We live in this earth, as part of the ecosystem, teenagers living in the city, in the time of climate change. It is not just our body that exists, we exist as part of everything around us. Influencing and being influenced. There are so many that we harm without realizing. Therefore we must have responsibility towards the environment we live in, the nature and the ecosystem, in the same way we are responsible for our families.

The social responsibility in the time of climate change might be of thinking, ‘Humans should not rule over the ecosystem but be positioned equally inside it’ and the duty to ‘Connect and sustain the natural cycle that we have been destroying’.

From now on, we must not seek ownership but understand living together and start right now to ‘act’ on sustaining our lives. Sustaining our lives means also sustaining the environment that we live in.

As teenagers, facing the time of climate change, we have agreed on this manifesto, that we are going to continue this action to sustain the environment.

These are the following agreements that we will carry out during our long term network between Hong Kong and Seoul.
