“나는 3년 동안 일반 중학교의 학생으로 있었어. 그때는 그다지 행복하지 않았지. 수업시간에는 매번 지루함을 느끼고 곧 잠이 들었지. 아마 이런 이유에서 내 자신에게 만족하지 못했던 것 같아. 내 자신을 발전시키는 것은 아무것도 하지 않고 있다고 느꼈어. 끝내, 졸업 후에 나는 고등학교에 진학하지 않길 선택했지. 또 다시 3년 동안 교실에서 잠자는 것을 반복하고 싶지 않아서였어. 그 당시에 우리 아버지는 나에게 비디오 카메라를 사주셨어. 항상 내게 영상을 해보라고 권유하시곤 했지. 그것 말고는 아무 것도 없었으니까, 하자는 영상과 예술을 접하기에 좋은 장소라고 생각해서 하자로 오게 되었어.”
